Daryl Hayward

Under the Bed by haywarddaryl

Two years after being born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Daryl and his mother hit the number one highway and moved to Winnipeg. For most of his pre-adult life, he grew up in Anola and Pine Ridge Trailer Park. His father sent him an acoustic guitar when he was thirteen and he never let it go. Actually, the songs he records today are played on that same guitar. He has had many high points in his life, including being President of his high school, and many low points in his life including drug addiction and sexual abuse. After meeting his producer, Shea Malcomson, in broadcasting school in January 2010, he has played bass for the local hip hop group, Abstract Artform. To this date they have played NXNE twice and recently invited to play Canadian Music Week next March. During their many adventure together, Shea heard Daryl playing his original songs on that old acoustic and offered to record him for free and release it on his indie record label Ol’ Roy Records.
