The Scene magazine reviews Abstract Artform at Indie Week

Abstract Artform – Indie Week 2012

Who:Abstract Artform

From: Winnipeg, MB

Preformed: 9:30pm- Oct 11,2012 – The El Mocambo (downstairs)

Editor’s note: Look out these boys are raising stars!

Pre-show hype: Abstract Artform’s latest effort “As the Crow Flies” produced by Juno-nominated producer Fresh Kils, has some great tracks. We were excited to see what they would bring to Indie Week 2012

Crowd: Started small but grew to half full by the end of the set. Some walker by’s we’re even calling for an encore!

Style: Real Canadian Trip/Hip Hop

Technicalities: Great sound that was noticeably better than upstairs.

Memorable moment: Lead singer bought Jager shots for the crowd (see pictures)

Sex appeal: If “REAL” hip hop is your thing than you’ve got to see these guys live.

Mentionable song: I’m Canadian – Just because it’s REAL CAN CON baby!

Comments: These guys really know how to have fun on stage. They are very professional and appreciative of the crowd. They are the only band/performers that we saw during the festival to offer free drinks to the crowd.

Total Rank: 8/10
